ESL Creative Writing

Introduction

ESL teachers face the challenge of looking for strategies that genuinely motivate the students to learn English, especially those who are beginners or have not had any contact with the second language. Creative writing can be the answer to this issue by using its strategies as tools for teaching language through the use of fun activities that are based primarily on student preferences and allow them to speak and write as much as they can without the fear of making mistakes.  Most importantly, creative writing can help students improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills as they begin writing for different purposes.  The more interested a student is in a certain topic, the better chance they will be able to produce writing that is acceptable and pleasing to them and others.
